Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) was established in 2006 as a not-for-profit, voluntary Non-Governmental Organisation, committed to preserving Malta and Gozo’s architectural and rural heritage. FAA lobbies for the better preservation and use of the heritage of the Maltese islands, not only for the sake of preservation but also as an agent of social regeneration and community benefit.
FAA is convinced that our sense of nationhood cannot grow unless Maltese history and culture is communicated to our young people. Since most students prefer to source their information online, we have provided this CultureMalta website which documents the heritage of the Maltese Islands in order to raise cultural and historical awareness.
The website also aims to promote cultural heritage tourism in the Maltese Islands which will support the conservation and proper management of historical/archaeological buildings and sites. Moreover, it will help Malta’s tourism industry by encouraging diversification, attracting cultural tourists to Malta in the shoulder months, and encouraging visits to areas which are not traditionally considered tourist destinations.
Our CultureMalta website caters to all; from those who might simply want a quick read of something interesting, to those who are looking for more in-depth research.
We hope that you will enjoy this website and that you will make it your own by giving us your feedback or sending old and recent photos, information on events or articles to [email protected]
If you share our ideals on preserving Malta’s unique heritage, we also invite you to donate in order to support this website and FAA’s other projects here: ticketengine.faa.org.mt/
